Dr Dhruv Shah qualified from The University of Manchester Dental School in 2011 and completed his foundation training in Dagenham, Essex. Following this, he spent an additional year at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Norfolk. There, he gained further hands-on training in the fields of Oral Surgery and Orthodontics (fixed and removable/functional appliances) as well as Maxillofacial Surgery.
He gained Membership to the Join Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in January 2013 as part of his early postgraduate studies.
Dhruv is interested in all aspects of dentistry, particularly oral surgery, adult orthodontics and minimally invasive aesthetic work including the use of modern composite resins to achieve tooth-like results. Having undergone additional training and reading in Smile Design, 6 Month Smiles and various aspects of soft tissue (gum) surgery, he is happy to discuss with you any concerns you may have regarding your smile.
Dhruv is currently undertaking a postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dentistry (dealing with more complex cases) with the Royal College of Surgeons, England.
Dr Shah offers concious intravenous sedation for patients that are particularly nervous and afraid of dental treatment. Please speak to him or our staff if this is something you are interested in.
He is the Head of Periodontology for our practice and has an interest in non-surgical as well as surgical treatment of gum disease. Dhruv welcomes all patients who suffer from gum disease or may be worried about it.
Outside of dentistry, he is a regular member of a gym and a keen swimmer. Having travelled to many continents over the years, Dr Shah has developed an understanding and appreciation for various cultures and traditions and always tries to visit new places. He particularly enjoys cooking in his spare time.
