Dr Raj Prashar qualified from Birmingham University in 1984, and after a working in Birmingham, and then private practice in Chletenham, he moved to Colchester in 1987. he established Colchester Dental Care at that time and has seen it grow into the largest and most highly reputable N.H.S dental practice in Colchester. after working in the N.H.S for over twenty years Dr Prashar has now moved into fully private practice and established The Smile Clinic.
The Smile Clinic was started due to the recent increase in demand for High Quality Cosmetic dental care, and now encompasses the full range of treatments to not only give our patients a beautiful perfect smile but also concentrate on the other aspects of the face which help promote that smile.
To produce that beautiful smile needs expertise in many different facets of dentistry and Dr Prashar has had training in cosmetic dental clinics in both England and abroad. most recently he has attended the prestigious New York university Aesthetic Dentistry Continuum with training in the art of smile design and facial aesthetics, using porcelain veneers.
In addition to the cosmetic interests Dr Prashar has also gained certification in implantology from the world renowned Eastman Dental Institute in London, and The smile clinic is certified to provide the revolutionary Nobel Biocare implants with the 'Teeth In An Hour Protocol.
Karen qualified with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Certificate in Oral Health Education in 2002 from Queens University, Belfast. Following this, she worked in general practice in Northern Ireland before moving to Colchester in February 2005. Karen is currently involved in the prevention and treatment of dental disease as well as oral health education. Her interest is in Periodontal disease.
